Trump’s back on Facebook with a second chance. One he didn’t deserve.

Free Press

Friend,

Two months ago, Meta decided to allow Donald Trump to return to its platforms — despite overwhelming evidence that he used them to incite an insurrection. Over the weekend, ahead of his anticipated indictment and potential arrest this week, Trump returned to Facebook and began posting again.

Trump’s back on Facebook thanks to a second chance he didn’t deserve. Meta must hold Trump to the same content moderation standards as the rest of us. If you agree, add your name to our petition to Mark Zuckerberg today.

To Mark Zuckerberg: Trump already used Meta to incite political violence. Don't let him do it again.

Meta is moving backwards, returning us to a time when Donald Trump used the company’s powerful tools to spread lies and dangerous rhetoric, and incite violence targeted at disenfranchised communities and his ideological enemies.

No Meta user should be allowed to use the company’s services to engage in or facilitate hateful activities. Meta claims there will be “new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses,” but the company’s dismal track record here speaks for itself. Free Press has repeatedly found that Meta failed to adhere to its own company policies around hate and disinformation.

Trump has already used Meta to incite an insurrection. Add your name to our petition to tell Mark Zuckerberg: Don’t let him do it again.

Today and every day, Free Press stands against allowing the rich, famous and powerful among us to abuse their positions of power to exploit and harm others.

Thanks for taking action today,

P.S. For years, Free Press and our partners in the Change the Terms coalition have advocated for Meta to hold powerful world leaders like President Trump to the same content moderation standards as the rest of us. Please join us in telling Mark Zuckerberg: No special treatment for insurrectionists!
