Last night, NBC and its corporate parent Comcast made a load of money from airing a racist ad from the Trump campaign.
The ad, which aired during Sunday Night Football as millions of viewers tuned in, depicted the so-called caravan of migrants in southern Mexico as murderers set to invade the United States and spread violence.1
Never mind that study after study shows that the crime rate in immigrant communities is lower than the national average.2 Never mind that CNN refused to air the ad, saying it was racist.3
After a massive public outcry, NBC pulled the hateful ad. But the network is still profiting off hate. NBC should give the money it took from Trump and donate it to a worthy cause.
Act now: Tell NBC to donate the money it made from airing Trump’s racist ad to aid organizations working with the migrant caravan.
NBC needs to stop giving racists a megaphone and should reject all money from hateful advertisers. And in order to atone for the damage already done, the network should reject Trump's racist ad money and donate it to an organization like Pueblo Sin Fronteras, which has been doing extraordinary work to make sure members of the caravan are safe as they seek a better life.4
You can help: Tell NBC to fix this mistake. Urge the network to send the money it made from Trump’s racist ad to an immigrant aid group.
