Telstra and Swedish telco vendor Ericsson have deployed Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) microprocessors for Ericsson’s bare metal cloud environment, known as cloud native infrastructure solution (CNIS), to deliver energy efficiency for Telstra’s 5G core functions.



Silicon as a platform company VeriSilicon has collaborated with wireless communications technology and chip provider Innobase to jointly launch a 5G RedCap/4G LTE dual-modem solution.

After acquiring unified communications-as-a-service (UcaaS) provider Symbio for $262 million last November 2023, telecommunications provider Aussie Broadband is one step closer to integrating the company under its wing, as Symbio shareholders have voted in favour of the deal.

Indonesian telecommunication tower and network infrastructure Balitower will deploy Nokia’s IP routing solution to enhance capacity, improve efficiency, and futureproof its network, ensuring a "smooth" customer experience for subscribers.

The US has announced plans to invest more than US$5 billion (A$7.67 billion) in semiconductor R&D aimed at establishing the country as a leader in the next generation of these technologies.
