Hi John,
I live in Northern California, and there's a small family winery down the road from my house.
They've quietly crafted their wines since 1995, plodding along without much fanfare.
In the last few years, something has changed…
…they planted new vineyards, opened a tasting room, and started connecting with the community.
And you know what? They seem to have hit their stride!
When I spoke with them, they shared this success didn’t happen overnight.
They went through numerous tests and trials to find the right formulas, flavors, and outreach plan.
They laid a foundation for their eventual growth and kept working towards their vision.
It all started with an idea and grew from there.
Whether you’re making wine or making a painting, you’re embedded in the creative process.
Your creative process, like theirs, takes time, too.
So trust the process and your vision.
In case you need a little help with this, try asking yourself these questions:
- What aspect of art-making brings me the most joy?
- Where would I like to be with my art or art teaching in five years?
- What’s one step I can take today to get closer to this goal?
Each small action can bring you closer to your creative vision.
Baby Steps!
