VIDEO: Pipeline fire in Deer Park burns throughout the night, into morning Nearly 24 hours after a pipeline in Deer Park burst into flames, that fire was still intensely burning. The temperature from the fire was so intense it torched a nearby playground. Firefighters hosed down their equipment and nearby homes, but that wasn't enough to fight back against the radiant heat. At least five homes were damaged. Officials announced Monday evening an SUV drove through a fence and hit the pipeline valve. Energy Transfer owns the pipeline and after more than three hours, they were able to shut down two valves to cut off the natural gas fueling the fire. Those two valves are twenty miles apart, according to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo. All the gas still in those lines has to burn off before the fire goes out. KPRC-TV NBC 2 HOUSTON House fire reported in eastern Travis County, Austin Fire Department says PHOTOS: A house in eastern Travis County was engulfed in flames on Tuesday morning at the 9700 block of Colfax Drive, according to the Austin Fire Department. That area is located between Decker Lake Road and Webberville Road. AFD said that another home was also affected by the fire. AFD said at 4:22 a.m. that crews were working to dig through the remaining rubble to search for life and concealed areas where the fire may have spread. In another update shortly after 5 a.m., the fire department said the fire was out and crews were still completing multiple searches for reported occupants in the home. So far, there have been no reported injuries, according to AFD. KXAN-TV NBC 36 AUSTIN Multiple agencies called to fight grass fire in Randall County Multiple agencies were called to help fight a grass fire near Lake Tanglewood Monday afternoon. As of 7:15 p.m., the Randall County Fire Department said that they were still fighting the fire in a Facebook post. The Randall County Fire Department, Tanglewood Volunteer Fire Department, Texas A&M Forest Service and the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System were called to fight the grass fire. The Randall County Fire Department also reported that the fire has burned approximately 6.2 acres before it dropped into deep canyon areas. Forward fire progression has stopped and the fire is 85% contained at this time. KFDA-TV CBS 10 AMARILLO Burger King closes after fire in south Austin A South Austin Burger King caught fire early Tuesday morning, according to firefighters. Responders on scene said they arrived around 12:40 a.m. to East Ben White Boulevard, not far from Interstate Hwy 35 and State Hwy 71, to find a fire at the back of the restaurant. Crews said the fire spread to the attic and to part of an inside wall, but was contained to one side of the building. Smoke filled the entire restaurant, but firefighters said everyone inside was able to escape and no injuries have been reported at this time. The fire has since been put out, but the Burger King will not reopen until further notice. An arson investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. KPRC-TV NBC 2 HOUSTON Growing Idaho: Boise's growth slowing down firefighters VIDEO: Boise is growing up and out, which is making for more homes and more fires for our firefighters to battle. So, is all the growth making you less safe? We talked to Boise's Fire Chief to find out. Growth is a fact of life in the Boise area. The population exploded by more than 50% in the past two decades. It means more apartments, taller buildings, and a denser downtown. Does that mean firefighters' tactics are having to change to keep up with the changing skyline? Boise Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer said they're ready to fight any fire anywhere. But there is a pretty big problem with all this growth. "We're always learning new techniques, but the core components of fighting those fires really haven't changed, even with the growth," said Chief Niemeyer. KTVB-TV NBC 7 BOISE Mississippi VFD honors veterans with new truck featuring American flag, soldier kneeling VIDEO: In Forrest County, the McLaurin Volunteer Fire Department welcomed a new fire truck, but this one has a deeper meaning. Stationed near Camp Shelby, the sides of the new McLaurin fire truck feature the American flag and a silhouette of a soldier kneeling. On the back is an emblem that reads, ‘Honoring those who served,' with a 22 in the middle that signifies the number of veterans that commit suicide daily in the United States. Forrest County Fire Coordinator Chip Brown says this truck symbolizes a thank you to all who have fought for our country. "This truck will be stationed right by Camp Shelby Ridge, at the McLaurin Volunteer Fire Department, and we want to honor those who serve our country," said Brown.
