Jabbar acted alone: The day after Wednesday's horrifying attack on Bourbon Street, authorities ruled out the possibility that 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar was working with accomplices when he placed explosive devices in the French Quarter and plowed a rental truck through a crowd, killing 14 and injuring at least three dozen others.
Sugar Bowl goes on: With armed law-enforcement agents and bomb-sniffing dogs on-hand, tens of thousands of college football fans attended the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Caesars Superdome on Thursday afternoon, less than a day after its originally scheduled start.
The Quarter reopens: Authorities quietly reopened Bourbon Street on Thursday afternoon, and it wasn't long before pedestrians walked in to join the New Orleans police officers, Louisiana State Police troopers, Army National Guard officers and Homeland Security Investigations agents along the popular strip. Jillian Kramer and Doug MacCash were there as the good times rolled once again.
