Give hope this holiday
MD Anderson Cancer Center
A special note from Elise
Elise Robinson, Survivor
When I was 8, I found out I had osteosarcoma (bone cancer). At first, my doctors thought it was just growing pains, but then a scan of my leg showed I had a tumor.
My doctor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital thought I should have a surgery called a rotationplasty and nine months of chemotherapy.
My parents were worried about the surgery because it would turn my ankle into a knee. But I told them I wanted to do it, because it would give me the chance to run and play sports with my friends like I used to.
The surgery worked and I don't have any regrets! Since then, I've worked hard in physical therapy to get stronger and learn how to run and be active again. I'm even playing softball now!
I'm really grateful for everyone at MD Anderson who saved my life. And I'm grateful for people like you who support what they do.
Your gift today could help another person like me get better. Please donate today.
