Let’s Talk About Those First Three Episodes of The Expanse’s New Season

Cara Gee as Camina Drummer on The Expanse

The standouts for me from these episodes—"Exodus," "Churn," and "Mother"—are Amos's journey and Drummer. Always Drummer.

The season finale of The Mandalorian brought us many twists and turns but one thing is already clear: We want to know what Grogu was doing this episode.

I Can’t Decide If Samantha Bee’s Grinch Mitch McConnell Is Better or Worse Than the Real One

The Mitch Who Stole Justice cover image, featuring Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as a Grinch-like cartoon.

It took a massive effort to flip Georgia blue for the presidential election, and as the plea at the end of Bee's story makes clear, any help anyone can provide this time around is both useful and critical.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom Delivers Magnetic Performances From Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman

Viola Davis in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020)

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is a fantastic movie in terms of acting, and the messages that are infused within it are powerful. If you have never gotten to see the play and love theater, this is no doubt an excellent version to watch. I can see it being exhausting for some because it is very heavy, but that heaviness is powerful and sobering.

What Exactly Does Congress Think We Can Do With a $600 Stimulus Check?

A close-up of Mitch McConnell sweating in front of an American flag.

While $600 is technically better than nothing, it also manages to feel worse worse than nothing.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

“I know that they’ve done a very thorough investigation, even just by how much time I spent with them,” Gadot said. “I don’t know what [remedial action] means either. I’m curious to know what’s going to be the outcome.”

I Jinxed Myself When I Said I Was Done Talking About Cyberpunk 2077 Because It’s Being Pulled From the PlayStation Store

Image used to advertise Cyberpunk 2077.

After CD Projekt Red said that the game could be refunded if you weren't willing to wait for patches, followed by Sony basically responding with NU-UH, Sony has not only decided to allow refunds, they've pulled the game from the PlayStation store. Now I don't claim to have the best recollection of the history of game launches, but this isn't something that happens very often, especially to a AAA title.

Following the lawsuit that singer FKA Twigs made against her former partner, Shia LaBeouf, she has had her supporters, and the most recent among them has been Alma Har’el, who directed the film Honey Boy, which was written by and starred LaBeouf.

The KFC Lifetime Movie Isn’t Ridiculous Enough and Our Hunky Colonel Deserves Better

Screencap from the upcoming Lifetime movie "A Recipe for Seduction"

This movie is such an anomaly to me because it's not nearly as bonkers as I expected. The Internet was so perplexed over the trailer and I was so ready for it to have the same energy as the dating sim or the mascot fanart or something. Instead, it's just a Lifetime movie with the occasional mention of chicken and secret recipes.

In Trying to Shake Things Up, the New The Stand Falls Flat

Pictured (l-r): Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood and James Marsden as Stu Redman of the the CBS All Access series THE STAND

More than 40 years after Stephen King published The Stand, the story of a world decimated by plague and split into a war of literal good vs. evil is back on television and is, depressingly, more timely than ever.
