“Why in the heck is HVAC so hard? Did any of you walk in and listen to this and think, ‘Oh, HVAC is so easy.’ No, you were probably like, ‘Oh my, God. This is worse than I thought.’ But engineers and manufacturers are not growers. They’re not. They don’t get plants. They’re learning about plants. They’re starting to learn about what you need.
“And you’re not an office manager. You’re not a health care worker or data center operator. You’re a grower. You’re growing plants to sell to people to consume. That’s really different. Growers: You’re usually not engineers. We shouldn’t expect you to be. You have a really critical role already. And you don’t understand the concepts that I just explained. You guys all do now, I hope. And plants, I mean, God bless them, right? This is why we love them. They’re alive. They’re pretty. They talk to us. Some people would say they scream. And they can’t go walk over to the wall sensor and change the setting. We have to do that for them. Your automation system has to do that for them.”
