That’s a Wrap: Our 2022 Recap

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that 2022 is coming to a close already. This was a big year for OpenCourseWare. We were able to finally roll out our new website to you. Among the many improvements is the ability to view content on a mobile phone and better searching and filtering. We hope you have had time to explore the new site and find it more streamlined and easier to locate the content you need.

We anticipate many good things in 2023, including Season 4 of our podcast, Chalk Radio, more courses, more video, and added improvements to the site. Watch this space for updates! Thank you to all who have supported us not only in 2022, but throughout our 20+ years. May your holidays be filled with much joy and light. And remember…never stop learning!

HBCU+MERLOT+MIT OCW Collaboration
MIT OpenCourseWare is honored to begin a collaboration with a network of US-based Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) who are adopting and adapting OER to improve the educational opportunities of their students.

For several years, the HBCU Affordable Learning Solutions (AL$) initiative which is a collaboration with the OER repository MERLOT, has been building HBCU faculty capacity to use OER, delivering immediate benefits to students by saving them thousands of dollars in textbook costs, improving course outcomes and reducing financial stress.

About two years ago, a group of medical students at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in Turkey began meeting to study single variable calculus. None of the students had taken a course in this subject before. But with the guidance of lectures, slides, and other freely available resources on MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW), they pursued a PhD-level research agenda.

This course introduces students to the rudiments of game theory as practiced in political science. 

18.102 Introduction to Functional Analysis

Functional analysis helps us study and solve both linear and nonlinear problems posed on a normed space that is no longer finite-dimensional, a situation that arises very naturally in many concrete problems.  Contains lecture videos!

This course was offered as part of the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) program for 7th-12th graders. It covers the basic mathematics and physics of oscillatory and wave phenomena.  

Introduction to Statistical Physics

This course was offered as part of the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) program for 7th-12th graders. It introduces the concepts and formalism at the foundations of statistical physics
