Letter from the Editor I frequently spend time talking about the virtues of insulin pump therapy and the use of CGM devices. When you add in the smart technology and AI that these systems have, it almost appears to be a no-brainer that if you are an insulin using patient, you should have this type of set-up. The problem is that not everyone has the insurance coverage to use these devices, and they often don't want to be “tethered” to a device. Last week the FDA made non-pump users happy when they gave 510 K clearance to the Bigfoot Unity System. This is a new system that will bring more patients into the 21st century of diabetes care. If you have never heard of this system and you want to learn more, then check out this product overview Laterpay feature by one of our newest interns, Thi Vietthi Huynh, 2022 PharmD Candidate, LECOM College of Pharmacy. ***************************** We can make a difference! ***************************** Dave Joffe Editor-in-chief |
