The 2020 Recent Spanish Cinema Series will take place Oct 22nd through Oct 29th and will screen contemporary Spanish Movies for California & Florida audiences. The series will take place both virtually and physically with opening and closing nights at the Drive-In in Los Angeles and Miami respectively.

 

Highlights of Recent Spanish Cinema include U.S. Premieres such as THE EUROPEANS starring Juan Diego Botto and Raul Arevalo  ; L.A. Premieres of THE INVISIBLE & ROSA’S WEDDING by Gracia Querejeta & Iciar Bollain; brilliant directorial debuts by Lucia Alemany & Pilar Palomero with THE INNOCENCE and SCHOOLGIRLS; the feature-length expansion of Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s 2019 Oscar-nominated short MOTHER; comedy INSTANT LOVE starring  Enrique Arce; an Advance Screening of THE ENDLESS TRENCH starring Goya winners Belén Cuesta and Antonio de la Torre; a Los Angeles drive-in double feature of new 4K restorations of Alex de la Iglesia's THE DAY OF THE BEAST & PERDITA DURANGO; as well as Q&As with the filmmakers and talent. Over the course of seven days, Recent Spanish Cinema will present 8 premieres and advance screenings in a special edition that is both a virtual LOG-IN and physical DRIVE-IN event, tailored to fit the pandemic situation
