After looking as if U.S. equities may get a reprieve from the recent selloff, U.S. stocks took a quick downwards turn, finishing in the red after some volatile trading due to another hotter-than-expected consumer price inflation report. The Dow Jones fell 1.0% , the S&P 500 Index decreased by 1.7%, and the Nasdaq lost 3.2%.
Futures were down across the board in the pre-market this morning, with Dow futures down 0.74%, S&P futures slipping 1%, and Nasdaq futures reporting losses of 1.61%.
