Good morning! It's Thursday, and U.S. stocks are coming off a win in Wednesday's session. The rally brought the S&P 500 into positive territory for the week posting back-to-back down days to start the week.
Jobless Claims
This week's unemployment report is expected to show claims hovering near their lowest level since the pandemic started. Consensus forecasts are expecting initial jobless claims to come in at 603,000.
Earnings Season
U.S. companies had a good run in the first quarter and their earnings numbers prove it. Many large-cap firms are reporting strong numbers and handily beating consensus estimates. However, the market is somewhat overbought, and many names posted declines despite strong numbers.
