GLOBAL: Salone del Mobile.Milano announced that its 60th edition will move from its traditional April dates to be held Sept. 5-10, 2021. The president of the Salone del Mobile, Claudio Luti, believes this major move for one of the design industry's biggest events "will leave enough time for the ongoing acute phase of the pandemic to subside and that this will provide a real chance to kickstart design at a global level."

CHICAGO: A holiday-themed experiential pop-up produced by Interpop Creatives is coming to Roosevelt Collection Shops in the South Loop. Opening Dec. 1 and running through Dec. 24, A Holly Jolly Christmas Pop Up will offer 13 socially distant settings for safe, holiday photo ops; think Santa's Candy Land, Greetings from Snowmanland, and more. Tickets range from $15-25 per experience and are available online.

NEW YORK: theMART, formerly known as The Merchandise Mart, is reimagining its long-running Architectural Digest Design Show to now be titled NY Luxury Design Fair. The immersive four-day event—which will take place Sept. 9-12, 2021 at the Javits Center—will be open to trade professionals and consumers and feature everything in home design—from furniture, lighting, and rugs to hardware, textiles, and more.

OAKLAND, CALIF: To ring in the new year with a "new norm," the Chabot Space & Science Center is playing host to a Virtual Balloon Drop New Year Celebration, taking place of its annual in-person balloon drop that's going on 20 years of tradition. In addition, the online event will include STEM activities delivered to your door, a dance party, and a family-friendly toast. Tickets range from $20-$50.

SAN FRANCISCO: Event design and production company Blueprint Studios announced a partnership with the San Francisco Ballet to produce Nutcracker Online, which will run through Dec. 31. The interactive experience where attendees can enjoy The Nutcracker streamed in HD, tour the virtual opera house, learn choreography from the San Francisco Ballet company, snap and download photos from a custom Nutcracker-themed photo booth, get a behind-the-scenes look at the production, and meet the orchestra. Tickets for the online holiday experience are $49.
