Did an Xbox spot reveal a villain's identity? ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Did an Xbox Ad Just Reveal the Identity of One of Marvel's Most Sinister Villains?

As an inveterate ad dork, one aspect of WandaVision I already miss is overanalyzing the show's fake commercials. Each one seemed to hint at a litany of possible secrets, though few if any actually panned out.

But it never occurred to me that revelatory Easter eggs about the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be hiding in real ads.

A TikTok user, spotted by my Adweek colleague Jameson Fleming, has floated a pretty sound theory based on a new cross-promotional ad for  Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and upcoming Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

You're into Marvel movies, you should definitely start by watching the ad and the TikTok connecting it into the films.

But the short version is that the mild-mannered Xbox rep seen in the ad has popped up in a previous MCU movie—and possibly another time, far more maliciously.

What's your favorite lingering Marvel fan theory? I never get tired of this stuff, so hit me at the email below or at @Griner on Twitter.
