THE NEGRONI SOCIETY - THIS MONTH

 

The cocktail menu at Hawksmoor is a showcase of both tradition and innovation.


Exploring historical drinks such as Punches, Juleps, Swizzles, and Sours, and they have journeyed through various eras and cultures to craft their unique offerings.

 

The team, led by renowned cocktail expert Liam Davy, has delved deep into the history of cocktails, traveling from the birth of the cocktail to modern times, and visiting places like 1920s Tokyo and Renaissance Italy.

The result is a cocktail list that features a mix of complex yet seemingly effortless creations, and we are very proud to be able to showcase their stunning Negroni!

The Hawksmoor has been a mainstay in the UK's food and drink scene since their first Shoreditch opening in the early 2000s.

A celebration of all that is best about the UK's ingredients and a total submersion into fine eating and drinking, the group prides itself on its friendly and knowledgeable staff, who are passionate about their work. This labour of love has garnered Hawksmoor great reviews and awards over many years.
 

Their cocktails are no exception to that dedication: The drinks menu is as delightful and innovative as its food offering, and their approach to crafting cocktails is a creative and ever-evolving journey, marked by a blend of history, artistry, and a hint of whimsy. They have even been recognised as the Best International Restaurant Bar at the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail event in New Orleans, not just once but twice.

THE DRINK

"The Apple & Blackberry Negroni"

 

Starting with hints of blackcurrant on the nose, and then leading into the much-loved herbaceous notes of the bitters and vermouth, the apple aperitif adds an intoxicating richness and body to the cocktail that you simply won’t find in any other Negroni. A real delight!
 

TO SERVE YOUR NEGRONI

 

Pop the pouch in the freezer for 30 minutes until nicely chilled.

Pour into an ice-filled tumbler or old-fashioned glass.

Garnish with a lemon zest coin, expressed over the glass
