Real talk

ICYMI: Last week, Technical.ly reporters published the 2021 RealLIST Engineers, our roundup of influential technologists across Philly, Baltimore, DC, Delaware and Pittsburgh. You can check them all out here.

In lieu of a public celebration this year, we're gathering our RealLIST honorees for a conversation on the future of software engineering and tech industry trends this Thursday, Oct. 21, from 12 to 1 p.m. We'll be meeting on Technical.ly's own Slack (join here!), which means anyone can participate — so please do! Topics up for grabs:

  • What are next year's most essential technical skills to know?
  • What's a thorny technical problem that needs to be solved stat? Why hasn't it been solved yet?
  • What do you wish you knew when you started in your career?
  • On whose shoulders do you stand in your work?
  • What's a technical tool you thought would last forever that nobody uses now, and why do you think it fell to the wayside?
  • How are you seeing The Great Resignation play out in your industry?
We'll see you there.
