Early on in my tenure as Technical.ly’s lead reporter covering Baltimore, I learned that part of my responsibilities included staying informed about noteworthy tech events in and around the city. Shortly after joining on Feb. 13, I came across advertisements from an organization promoting a sneaker-related event.
Initially, I struggled to convey to my editor the scientific connection to a sneaker ball and the reasons I might go — for coverage, of course. However, with time, I managed to identify a compelling angle.
Today, our coverage looks at that Sneaker Ball and the 10-year-old organization behind it, as well as how all its work supports sciencey things for youth in Baltimore. Otherwise, here are some more stories from around the way to check out:
- SXSW has introduced an Early Career Badge Discount. Learn more about that here.
- Congratulations are in order for Jeff Cherry, managing general partner of Conscious Venture Partners, who got married over the holiday break.
- The 5th Annual Technology Transformation Conference is coming up on Feb. 29. If you’re into being shoulder-to-shoulder with tech organizations and professionals over learning about the latest developments, you might consider attending.
