Friends, I love the holidays. Every year, I find myself charmed by bright lights, cheerful carols, sweet treats and, of course, the GIFTS. Do you remember the best gift you ever received? For me, it was when I was young, probably 8 or 9, and my mom asked me to be Santaโs helper. I felt so special to be working with her to wrap all the gifts for my three sisters. Waking up on Christmas morning and seeing the surprise and delight on their faces as they unwrapped dolls, chess sets and books was genuinely far better than any gift I received. The gift of giving is a powerful one, and to this day I find far more joy in giving than receiving. I have also become even more acutely aware of the intangible gifts this life has given to me, of family and friendship, health and happiness, knowledge and good fortune, all of which mean much more than any physical thing. This is why I wanted to invite you to join me in celebrating this season of giving, and ask you to consider donating to OZY this holiday season. Your gift will enable us to continue bringing you original, forward-looking, global, multipartisan journalism, and embark upon even more ambitious reporting projects in the new year. |
