Here's what's going on in the market this week:

 

 

The Nasdaq closed out the week with a 1.2% gain on Friday while the S&P 500 advanced 0.8% on the session. The Dow added 0.7%, and the Russell 2K rallied 1.7%. However, it wasn't enough to bring most of the major indices into positive territory for the week. All three benchmark indices ended the week lower than they started it.

 

Today, futures are edging higher in anticipation of data from the American manufacturing and services sectors. S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 contracts are both currently up 0.3%.
