Welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Friday, May 27. • The Saints’ organized team activities (OTAs) got underway this week, and Alvin Kamara wasn’t on the practice field. What matters is whether he is available in September. Kamara’s status for the 2022 season is the biggest question facing the team, now that the left tackle, wide receiver and free safety positions have been addressed in free agency and the draft. Jeff Duncan weighs in with more. • Several other notable players are missing from OTAs. “Would I like everybody to be here? Yeah, I’d like everybody to be here,” Dennis Allen said. “But everybody has their reason why, and I’m comfortable with where we’re at.” Read more on who was missing. • Less than seven months removed from that knee injury, Jameis Winston is back on the practice field. He is not yet fully recovered and there are still things he has not been cleared to do, but he was there and that alone was important. • Check back on NOLA.com this weekend for more on OTAs and the rest of the Saints offseason.
