| | 📰 Market Headlines | It was a mixed day in the US markets as most asset classes muddled through. Investors seem to be moving away from tech and toward unloved sectors like healthcare. As of Monday, 27 stocks have already dropped over 5% since the start of 2024. Asian stocks fell today following a tepid Wall Street session yesterday, except for Tokyo, which saw gains due to the government's plan to double its disaster reserves by nearly $7 billion. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 surged 2.1% to 34,476.86, a near 34-year high, boosted by chipmaker buying and expectations that the Bank of Japan will continue its loose monetary policy after ongoing wage declines. The CPI numbers come out tomorrow, while the PPI is set for Friday. Most analysts seem to expect the BTC ETF announcement today. |
