On this day in 1995, The Canberra Times was reporting police could do nothing to stop Canberra teenagers carrying knives in Tuggeranong. "It's almost started to become a bit of a cult thing to go wandering around the Hyperdome carrying a knife and it's not uncommon to hear of fights developing and knives being produced, which is a real worry to us," Tuggeranong superintendent Allen Castle said.
