These days, AI gets all the attention for disruption across the enterprise. But within the walls of IT, other pieces are naturally in play to recalibrate how CIOs work: managing costs, reacting to geopolitical change, shortening the time to business value through industry and regulatory shifts, and, of course, a broad range of emerging tech. So CIOs have to deal with a seemingly never ending list of complex issues. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but in accepting the challenge, expectations follow. In today’s lead feature, Mary Pratt explores with IT leaders what’s at the top of the hit list of concerns. But no matter how the list varies from one organization to the other, it’s clear CIOs need to have ever sharpening leadership skills in order to drive innovation and develop strategies to be the agents of change and strategic partners needed for the future.
