It’s Memorial Day weekend, and no hot drinks are allowed.
COOK THIS NOW If you’re looking for both comfort and refreshment from a drink (and on this particular Memorial Day, that’s a combination I think we’re all looking for), this is the cocktail I suggest. It combines the warm spice of a classic winter tipple with the cooling power of the South’s favorite drink. The recipe says it serves eight, but my quarantine mate and I downed a pitcher of the stuff in just two hours last weekend. And I’ve got another batch of this whiskey-and-citrus-spiked punch lying in wait for Memorial Day (yes, you can make it ahead), because even if I can’t go outside, I’m still going to celebrate the unofficial start of summer.
