The College Library’s Role in Learning Enablement
Wednesday, April 28, 2021
2-3 PM ET, 11 AM-12 PM PT

Last year academic libraries were blindsided by the global pandemic. With little notice, libraries across the country had to close their doors and limit their services to online. Yet, in the middle of great difficulty lies opportunity. Challenged to meet the needs of their most disadvantaged students, librarians innovated their approach to enabling learning, adopting new practices, processes, and technologies to enable student success.

University libraries have long played a central role in the student experience, providing students with access to content and developing the research skills necessary to succeed in their collegiate careers. The COVID-19 pandemic amplified libraries’ importance to enable students to learn how to utilize digital resources in their research.

Join fellow librarians and technology experts for this webinar, to examine:
• The role of the library in Learning Enablement
• Best practices for increasing the range of digital content available to students
• How to develop online research guides to help students sift through misinformation
• Approaches for achieving mass digitalization of content within budget
• Being aware of copyright and fair use challenges
• The role of Open Education Resources

Presenters:

• Rex Krajewski, Director of Library & Learning Commons Services, North Shore Community College
• Susie Kopecky, Library Coordinator and Associate Professor of Library Science and English, Allan Hancock College
• Dave Sherwood, CEO, BibliU

Moderated by:
