Dear subscribers,
Today, we hear from Michigan football's Maurice Hurst, fifth-year senior defensive tackle, as he gears up for Saturday's matchup against Penn State. We also take a look at a lawsuit against the University's Bentley Library regarding the release of records donated by retired ophthalmologist John Tanton, an activist who opposes immigration and founded the Federation for American Immigration Reform. Wednesday, artist Mark Dion discussed his work âWaiting for the Extraordinary,â which was influenced by the original blueprint of the University of Michigan. Additionally, the Michigan women's volleyball team fell to Michigan State last night in all four sets. Finally, we have a wrap-up of the most important bills passed in the Michigan legislature over the past seven days.
All the best,

Artist Mark Dion discussed his work âWaiting for the Extraordinary,â which was influenced by the original blueprint of the University of Michigan, Wednesday night at the Penny Stamps Speaker Series at the University of Michigan Museum of Art.
The event was part of a series and was held in collaboration between the Institute for Humanities and the UMMA with the goal of showcasing the innovation and art that exists across a wide range of disciplines.Â
Hurstâs history against the Nittany Lions â coupled with his play this year â makes it all the more likely that heâll enjoy success in his final game against Penn State on Saturday night.
The University of Michigan is allegedly blocking the release of records donated by retired ophthalmologist John Tanton, an activist who opposes immigration and founded the Federation for American Immigration Reform, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Each week, The Michigan Daily will be publishing a wrap-up of the most important bills proposed in Michigan Legislature over the past seven days:
