Millennial pet ownership surpassed that of baby boomers by three percentage points, and the younger segment includes more than 50% of reptile, small-animal and saltwater-fish owners. The data come from the 2017-18 American Pet Products Association National Pet Owners Survey, which found that pets occupy 68% of American households, and 81% of animal owners say pet ownership is good for their health.
