The DeerLake Weekly Letter |
DeerLake Weekly Letter, Elk and Halloween Posted: 28 Oct 2016 08:58 PM PDT Hunting season in Montana is here. The deer are feeling pretty safe at our house, we had five or six does hanging around for the past couple of days. As we take our walk every day we can see them laying in the woods just out of site from the hunters. In the evenings they venture out into the yard and finish their day by eating all the fallen lilac leaves. No need to rake the leaves around here, they're all eaten up at a regular pace. I think it is two mamma's and three baby deer that are still hanging around. The colors are fading and it looks a bit blustery up in Glacier Park lately. This creek is so awesome though, a real challenge to shoot photos with this much shade. Took me many tries to figure out how to get the lighting just right. The other day there were heavy clouds coming over in the middle of the day. There is always lots of light at one end and dark shade in the background. These clouds shaded the light end and left the dark background lit-up. We had enough time to get some extraordinary shots.
