Six bullets struck Ventura County Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus at the Borderline Bar & Grill on Nov. 7 and one came from a California Highway Patrol officer's rifle. Sheriff Bill Ayub said Friday the friendly fire killed Helus. The other five shots came from gunman Ian David Long.
