Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for July 26. Training camp is (almost) upon us! Hope springs eternal with new seasons, and that maxim is true for these New Orleans Saints. But to really make the most out of this season, they're going to have to find suitable answers for these five questions. Training camp should be exciting this year for that one reason: There's so much still unknown about this particular Saints team. Is Dennis Allen the guy? And for that matter, is Jameis Winston? What is really going on with Michael Thomas. Stay tuned, we should have a pretty good idea very soon. JERSEY SWAPSince the Saints acquired Mark Ingram in a trade last season, he made it known that his No. 14 uniform was a temporary solution. Monday, he officially found some new threads. Ingram is going from 14 to No. 5, a straight up trade with backup quarterback Andy Dalton, who has worn No. 14 for each of his 11 NFL seasons. This will be Ingram's fourth (fourth!) different number with the Saints — he also wore 28, 22 and 14. Saints Insider's take: This trade receives an A+ grade, even if it still is a little weird seeing position players in single-digit numbers. That's all we have for the day. Thanks as always for your support. Cheers, Luke Johnson |
