The future of RTA: After a tumultuous year at the New Orleans RTA, its new board of commissioners will meet Tuesday for the first time in months to begin charting a course for the agency’s future. The challenges it faces are complex: It must work to ensure reliable service, restore public faith in an institution rocked by controversy and address a looming budget deficit. 'So thankful': An Uptown woman ended her month-long vigil to save the Chinese tallow tree in front of her house after finalizing a commitment from city officials that the tree would be spared the ax and that the city would beef up its tree protection measures. On Sunday, Stephanie Riegel caught up with Lynda Bermuda, who at one point camped out in the tree for days to protest its removal.
