Last Wednesday, Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire and hostage-for-prisoner release agreement. It will be the first stop in fighting in the Gaza Strip since a November 2023 agreement allowed for the return to Israel of over 100 hostages held by Hamas in exchange for the release of Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.
