We seem to be in a good news/bad news cycle with the Covid-19 pandemic and motorsports right now.

Good news is that the upcoming mega weekends of the Monaco Grand Prix and Indy 500 – not on the same day for once – will go ahead with restricted but sizeable crowds present. Bad news is that the Turkish Grand Prix, which last year stepped into the breach and served up a thriller, has had to be cancelled due to a spike in cases there last month and travel restrictions currently in place.

Back to the good news: We’ll have two grands prix at the Red Bull Ring, which usually serves up some fine stuff for us to enjoy. It’s still a time to roll with the punches, but we’re not being hit quite so often…

Formula 1 is to run a double-header in Austria for the second season in a row, with the second event at the Red Bull replacing the Turkish Grand Prix, which has been called off.
