The Chief Albert Luthuli Extension 4 On Track To Completion.

The Chief Albert Luthuli Extension 4 Housing Development Project is one of the HDA’s catalytic Gauteng projects situated in the eastern sub region of the City of Ekurhuleni, on the eastern edge of Benoni. As it falls under the greater bounds of Daveyton, the development can be considered an extension of the already establishment township.

The project is made up of 326 residential stands that are adjacent to Chief Albert Luthuli Extensions 5 and 6. Of these stands, 272 have already been completed, with 20 more to be built for Military Veterans and an additional 34 units to be built for special case beneficiaries and people with disabilities.

Premier launches Gauteng Rapid Land Release Programme

Friday 31 August marked the launch of the Gauteng Rapid Land Release Programme - an initiative that will see the release of thousands of serviced stands to qualifying beneficiaries who will be able to either build their own houses or receive government subsidised houses should they qualify.

Speaking at a ribbon-cutting event at Palmridge Extension 10 in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Premier David Makhura said land would be released for housing, commercial developments and farming.

Limpopo District Municipalities: State Land Audit

In 2013, the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR) published its first Land Audit on State-Owned Land.

The purpose of the land audit was to establish which land is registered in the name of the State (in the Deeds Registrar’s Office) and certified by a title deed document that indicates which State division or department has been allocated ownership (DRDLR Land Audit, 2013).
