This week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1 – the For The People Act – one of the most significant voting rights and democracy reform bills in decades!

Every single House Republican voted against it, and their Republican colleagues in state Legislatures across the country are waging an unprecedented attack on Americans' right to vote.

H.R. 1 is critical to beat back these Republican attacks on our democracy. If it's passed, the For The People Act will:

  • Create nationwide automatic voter registration and ensure 15 days of early voting
  • Prohibit states from restricting vote-by-mail and require pre-paid postage on ballot return envelopes
  • Fight voter suppression efforts and ensure our elections are secure from foreign interference
  • Hold elected officials accountable with tougher ethics laws
  • And so much more!

The For The People Act comes at a crucial moment, as Republican state lawmakers across the country are introducing hundreds of bills in more than 40 states aiming to restrict Americans' access to voting.
