Hey everyone, People get so wrapped up in the mayo and dressings and sauces that we sometimes forget about the humble, unassuming avocado oil. Its versatility is unmatched, and I just wanted to remind everyone how beneficial and useful it can be for culinary, cosmetic, and other applications by giving you a few ideas. For instance, avocado oil is a neutral oil that imparts little, if any unique flavor to the dish (any dish). Any recipe that calls for vegetable oil can be swapped out for avocado oil and bam, you just improved the healthfulness of the dish by at least 2-3x. Stir fries, pan frying, baking, searing steaks, marinades, dressings-- that's just the beginning. You can shave with avocado oil. Doesn't dry you out, no harmful adulterants or chemicals, just pure avocado oil that's fairly similar to your own skin's fatty acids. When I have a little extra time on my hands I sometimes make homemade mayonnaise using avocado oil. For most uses, I stick with the Primal Kitchen Mayo, but every once in a while I like to explore the wild mayo margins at home with 10 cloves of garlic mayo or turmeric black pepper mayo for sweet potato fries. The overall power of the avocado oil is that it can serve as a blank canvas. Simple, pure, and perfect for your creativity to shine. |
