Neither Alex and Dino Boller with their wild ‘Ice Control’ Beetle nor the frenzied emergency doctor Christian Knetsch and his Lancia Delta ‘Icebulance’ were able to prevent it: The Ice in St. Moritz was cancelled due to the coronavirus that has emerged in Switzerland’s Graubünden region. It is a real shame for the organisers, participants and spectators – after all, the International Concours of Elegance on St. Moritz’s frozen lake was poised to be one of the highlights of the entire events season, and not only for us. Despite our disappointment, we’re sure that any sports cars and their creative owners stranded in the upper Engadine will not spend their weekends cooped up and still have their winter fun – there are more than enough snow fields, dreamy roads and snowy passes in the area. And where could you be safer from the damned virus than behind the wheel of a classic drifting across the snow?
