What's making news in New Orleans?
By Chad Calder | Staff writer POWER AND POWERLESSNESS: Is there really any other lead story when 600,000 Entergy customers in Louisiana remain without power? You can also read here about the shifting rationales Entergy employed to explain the role its New Orleans East power plant played in its Ida response. Here you can find the updated list of when power is expected to be restored in neighborhoods throughout New Orleans. Things are looking much worse in St. Charles Parish, though, as it and St. John the Baptist got hammered by the highest winds. Here is the breakdown in St. Tammany Parish for Cleco customers. GAS STATION KILLING: An arrest has been made in Friday's fatal shooting in line at a Metairie gas station, and preliminary information from the Sheriff's Office and the accounts from the shooter's family suggest the case could again test the state's laws governing self defense. NOT WHAT WE NEED RIGHT NOW: Here's what we know about the tropical disturbance expected to bring heavy rain to the New Orleans area next week, but check with NOLA.com for further details as it develops. Stay safe, and thanks for starting your day with us at The Front Page and at NOLA.com. CC |
