Ugh! Hurricane season: Hurricane season officially starts today. The good news? The early-forming Hurricane Agatha doesn’t look like much of a threat for us. The not-so-good news? We have a long season ahead of us. Check out this list of 10 things to know. Also, tiny Grand Isle, one of the places that bore the brunt of Hurricane Ida last year, got some good news – an injection of federal money to help repair the barrier island’s storm defenses. Picking up: The garbage hauling company owned by Sidney Torres IV has been chosen to handle trash and recycling pickup across a big area of New Orleans. The city's (and residents') hope is that garbage collection, which essentially collapsed after Hurricane Ida, will improve. But Torres' selection didn't come without some questions. Graduation shooting: We’re still reeling from the multiple shooting at the Morris Jeff graduation yesterday that claimed the life of an 80-year-old woman who was on hand to watch her youngest grandchild walk across the stage. Raising the stein: Wolfram Koehler, the German-born and German-trained brew master who helped usher in the craft beer era in New Orleans, has died, and Ian McNulty serves up a nice remembrance.
