Grand time: It would be a shame if all you knew about Dr. Irwin Marcus is that he’s former newscaster Angela Hill’s husband. For starters, he’s a World War II veteran who enlisted on the day after the Pearl Harbor attack. He’s also a semi-retired psychiatrist who put himself through medical school. And to boot, he just turned 100 years old, which of course means there was a party to mark the milestone.       

Irish sweepstakesYou would never know that Mardi Gras was less than two weeks ago, judging by the, er, “spirit” on display during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Revisit the festivities from the Irish Channel and Metairie Road, and watch a police officer learn to dance an Irish jig.
