Forward Forward

A year or so ago, people were talking about COVID and the end of civilization as we know it.

But that’s not what happened. According to Forbes, the COVID crisis was responsible for launching over 4 million new small business ventures, the largest uptick in the history of our country.

Not only that, these new ventures are happening away from the big coastal centers as people try their luck in places like Alabama or South Carolina.

Things change, so people change. This is what happens. Especially in America.

We’ve been here before. In 2000, during the Dotcom crash, techie folk were laid off in droves. Unemployed and stuck at home, they were angry and despondent.

So to let off steam, they started talking to each other. In no time they created software that made talking to each other easier, hence social media companies like Blogger and Movable Type were born. In no time a revolution was in the making.

Don’t let the Marxists fool you. America’s primary culture is not about racism, sexism, and homophobia. America’s primary culture is entrepreneurship, both big and small. White, black, brown, male, female, trans, whatever, striving to create something useful and meaningful of lasting value is our dominant characteristic. And we’re either raising our kids to thrive in that culture, or we’re not.

Yes, we can’t all be entrepreneurs. Some of us have to drive ambulances, some of us are college administrators, some of us work at the DMV. But it's entrepreneurs who drive the economy.

“Culture” is having its moment, and it couldn’t come sooner.

People are asking; “How do we maintain culture at distance?”, “What do we do about Diversity and Inclusion post-George Floyd?” and it continues on with concerns about layoffs, safety, politics, and health. There are answers. What we all need are relevant and sustainable strategies and tools to implement and grow our cultures.

We receive so many inquiries from people seeking to better understand how Culture Design® works, we will be sharing a bit more of these insights.
