The Missing Men on Campus

The gender gap in college enrollment has been growing for decades. In 1970, men accounted for 59 percent of college students. By 2019, that had essentially flip-flopped, with women accounting for 57 percent of enrollment. Last spring, 400,000 fewer males enrolled in college than in the spring of 2020, a drop nearly doubles that for females.
