Monday of upfronts week is in the books, with both NBCUniversal and Fox Corp. holding their presentations yesterday. And while buyers heard many familiar pitches and promises from execs and talents, both companies also had a few unexpected tricks up their sleeves. So Adweek rounded up the most—and least—surprising moments from those two Monday events, including Brian Williams’ big upfronts return and the “offensive comments” that Fox Sports’ Terry Bradshaw already apologized for late last night.
And if NBCUniversal’s presentation wasn’t persuasive enough for you, several of NBC’s stars told Adweek why brands should advertise in their shows.
Tuesday brings the first combined Disney upfront this afternoon, and ad sales chief Rita Ferro gave Adweek a preview of what’s in store (yes, Jimmy Kimmel will be there!). Adweek also has concluded our daily Q&As with every single ad sales chief presenting this week, by speaking with The CW’s Rob Tuck, who talked about the benefits of being the most stable company at upfronts week.
As always, if you’ve missed any of Adweek’s upfronts coverage, you can find it here.
