Time Out No. #86 | Tuesday 30 November 2021

Some people tut when you start talking about Christmas in November. Those people, quite frankly, don’t understand the importance of good planning and preparation. They don’t understand that there are already a ton of great festive markets to see, that the lights displays are looking glorious, that the pantos are open and that the Christmas parties are selling out fast. Friend, we are not those people. Get the calendar out and start booking now.

Three cities to see this Christmas

Liverpool is always a good idea. Grab breakfast at Kash’s Kitchen, then take in an exhibition and coffee at The Bluecoat and wander through Albert Dock. When it’s dark, head to Sonic Yootha, one of the city’s best club nights.

If you’re keen on exploring the Highlands, Inverness is the ideal base to kick off your trip. Mooch around the Victorian Market and grab something to eat, then head up to Inverness Castle for some properly excellent views. Still hungry? Black Isle Bar does an excellent wood-fired pizza.

Have you noticed the number of Londoners moving up here of late? We have. If you want to test it out yourself, we’d recommend cocktails at Public, an underground former public toilet, then basically anything on the menu at Joro. Afterwards, head to Hope Works for a dance.

And actually, we have a list of AIRE’s wellness spots right here. Worth a look if you’re visiting or living somewhere a little hectic.
