The NCCIH Clinical Research Toolbox

If youre performing or planning NCCIH-funded clinical research, make sure to check out our Clinical Research Toolbox.

The Toolbox contains templates, sample forms, and information to assist clinical investigators in the development and conduct of high-quality clinical research studies.

We recently added two new resources to the Toolbox:

• A protocol template for Phase 2/3 clinical trials. If your trial would be conducted under an Investigational New Drug (IND) or Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) application, this template may help you think through the scientific basis of your assumptions, minimize uncertainty in the interpretation of outcomes, and prevent loss of data.
• A template for clinical trials in behavioral and social sciences research. This template may be especially helpful if you are in the process of learning about the information and level of detail expected in a clinical protocol.
