In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, provider organizations saw a steady decrease in non-emergency-related patient volumes. While those levels are starting to increase back to pre-pandemic numbers, in 2021 there was still a 5% decrease in inpatient volume compared to 2019.
However, through future forecasts, things are looking up, not only for inpatient volumes but outpatient as well.
