Located 500 miles north of the Arctic Circle and less than 1,200 miles from the North Pole, the Northwest Passage is one of the most inhospitable places on earth. A freezing soup of silent, drifting icebergs, it can't be conquered, only navigated and fleetingly experienced. As the world's greatest maritime challenge, the obstacles are relentless, and yet so is our desire to conquer it.

Simply too dangerous for most yachts
The Northwest Passage provides the only alternative to the infamous journey around Cape Horn when traveling between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. It is arduous in its entirety, case-studies from which to learn from are thin on the ground, and the weather conditions never play fair; thousands of monolithic icebergs migrating south from the polar ice caps rise over 300 feet above sea level. There is no easy way through, and most yachts simply cannot offer the comfort, reliability and safety that's paramount.
