Greetings from ... well, my desk. I'm back from The Masters, and what a thrilling ending it was as Rory McIlroy won a playoff for the green jacket and to complete the career grand slam. Now the sports world moves on, and the biggest thing this week will be the LSU gymnastics team's attempt to win back-to-back NCAA championships. They get started Thursday in Fort Worth. For now, we've got some other news, and the big news of Monday was the WNBA draft. LSU's Aneesah Morrow was the seventh overall selection. The All-American forward went relatively quickly to the Connecticut Sun. Shortly thereafter, the Chicago Sky took former LSU guard Hailey Van Lith with the 11th overall pick out of TCU. She reunites with former LSU All-American forward and ex-Tiger teammate Angel Reese, who messaged her congratulations. Baseball was also on the docket Monday, with Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates facing off for the first time against former LSU baseball teammate Dylan Crews and the Washington Nationals. Skenes and the Pirates got the better of the matchup, as we find out here from Koki Riley. The current LSU baseball team looks to snap out of its three-game losing streak and overall offensive funk in a home game Tuesday against McNeese State. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at The Box, the Tigers' first home game after a seven-game road trip. That's all for today, friends. Keep reading and subscribing and I'll be back Thursday morning.
